Keyboard shortcuts
Shortcuts only fire when the canvas (or chrome that's not an input) has focus. Typing in the inspector, dialogs, or any text field is always safe — single-letter shortcuts won't trigger.
Tools
| Shortcut | Tool |
|---|
V | Select |
P | Place |
F, M, and A are reserved for Flex Track, Measure, and Annotate — those tools aren't built yet (they show dimmed in the rail), so the keys do nothing for now. Panning has no tool key; it's middle / right-drag, or an empty-space drag in Select. To delete track, select it and press Delete (see Selection).
Selection
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|
R | Rotate selection +15° around the cursor's nearest connector |
Shift+R | Rotate selection −15° around the cursor's nearest connector |
Shift+F | Mirror-flip selection (or the ghost, if Place is active) |
Shift + drag | Constrain the move to one axis (the dominant drag direction) |
Delete / Backspace | Remove every selected piece |
Esc | Back out one step (close dialog → exit Place → clear selection) |
View
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|
G | (When held) toggle grid — see the Grid section in Snapping and the grid |
Shift+L | Toggle light / dark theme |
Shift+S | Toggle "show all scales" override in the catalogue dock |
Fit layout to view has no keyboard shortcut — it's the diagonal-arrows button at the top-right of the canvas. (F is the Flex Track tool.)
Layout actions
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|
⌘K / Ctrl+K | Open the command palette |
⌘Z / Ctrl+Z | Undo |
⌘Shift+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z | Redo |
